Webinar: Live from the Lab - What you should know about battery calorimetry testing for safety and performance

Tuesday, September 21, 2021 | 2:00 - 3:00 PM EST / 8:00 - 9:00 PM CEST

Brad and Peter will discuss successes and challenges related to battery cell testing using different types of adiabatic, scanning and isothermal calorimetry instrumentation and methods. Various examples of tests methods will be demonstrated and discussed. Throughout these discussions, our experts will highlight strengths and weaknesses of these methods, the power of using multiple methods and the role of thermal transport in understanding the results.

Host: Brad Hammond and Peter Ralbovsky

About Brad:
Brad Hammond is the Manager of the NETZSCH Applications Lab located in Burlington, MA.  His expertise is in measuring thermal transport properties of materials and devices over a wide temperature range. Brad’s extensive knowledge of testing methods has allowed him to adapt instrumentation to the special needs of battery materials and cell testing.

About Peter:
Peter Ralbovsky is a battery calorimetry expert with over 25 years of experience in battery testing. He has developed battery and material testing instrumentation and methodologies used by industries, universities and government institutions throughout the world.
