During this webinar, Dr. Mark Patrick will discuss various rheology applications in pharmaceuticals using rotational, oscillational and vertical assays to address client needs. He will also highlight basic principles behind the assays along with practical experimental considerations.
Examples include:
- Rotational Assays
- Oscillational Assays
- Vertical Assays
Presenter
Dr. Mark Patrick
Mark Patrick has a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He has served as team leader, consultant, and mentor primarily focused on physical properties and new chemical entity (NCE) developability for over 30 years with 24 years at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
While at Stiefel, a dermatology subsidiary of GSK, Mark was the rheometer lead user and trainer and it became evident to him that there is a general lack of understanding and subsequently an appreciation for the potential of rheology to provide insight to better understand, optimize and leverage physical properties for a multitude of materials and applications. When the opportunity arose in 2017, Mark started Rheology Testing Services located in the Research Triangle Park area, in North Carolina, USA. He provides rheology support across a broad range of academic and industrial R&D programs and welcomes the opportunity to discuss and provide both technical insight and contract testing for clients.
